A reflection on the quiet strength it takes to endure, heal, and continue forward. Artists can express resilience, vulnerability, and the honest determination required to face life with hope—even when fear is present. All mediums welcome.

As part of Art On 1st’s ongoing series of open-call exhibitions, COURAGE aims to showcase emerging and established artists together, providing collectors a fresh perspective on art in Roanoke, Virginia. Featured artists come from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.

Entries MUST be made here on our website. No work will be accepted past the deadline. All artwork must be listed for sale and Art On 1st requires a 30% commission on all sales.

Art on 1st is committed to remaining a vital, accessible space for artists and the community we serve. To ensure we can continue offering quality exhibitions, professional support, and a welcoming home for creative work, we've adjusted our entry fees starting: $25 per entry, or $85 for a bundle of four. These fees help us cover the real costs of running each exhibition and keep this space sustainable for years to come.

We never want cost to be a barrier. If you need support, please check the financial support box on your entry form when submitting.

Please remember this is a curated show and space is limited. Some entries may not be accepted, but we encourage everyone to keep an eye on our website, Instagram, and Facebook for future opportunities. All non-veteran entry fees are nonrefundable.
