MEND — an Open Call Exhibition
MEND invites artists to explore the restorative power of creativity. This exhibition focuses on art as a vital instrument for emotional resilience, looking beyond the finished piece to the healing found in the act of creation itself.
We welcome submissions from artists of all levels and backgrounds that reflect personal journeys of recovery, growth, and the finding of peace through expression. Join us in a safe, inclusive space where we celebrate how art helps us process life’s challenges and build community.

As part of Art On 1st’s ongoing series of open-call exhibitions, MEND aims to showcase emerging and established artists together, providing collectors a fresh perspective on art in Roanoke, Virginia. Featured artists come from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.
Entries MUST be made here on our website. No work will be accepted past the deadline. All artwork must be listed for sale and Art On 1st requires a 30% commission on all sales.
Our fees are$10 per entry or $35 for a bundle of four entries. This nominal fee goes a long way in sustaining our commitment to fostering a vibrant art community, providing a place for all levels of artists, and showing our patrons a rich tapestry of creativity.
